Sandersons Santa’s grotto raises £700 for local charity

20 December 2017

Santa and his little helpers have raised a fantastic £700 for the Rotary Club of Wortley in the run up to Christmas at the Sandersons Santa’s Grotto at Fox Valley.

The special grotto, which has been located on the first floor of the north Sheffield boutique department store, ran every weekend from 2nd December to 17th December.

Children received a special Christmas gift as well as a traditional apple or an orange from Santa and also raised lots of money for fantastic local causes.

The Rotary Club of Wortley is a local charitable group who take part in lots of fundraising activities to help those less fortunate in the local community.

Sandersons Store Manger Lisa Fox said “Thank you to Santa and all of our customers for joining us in store this month and helping to raise money for a fantastic local charity.”

“This is something we are truly passionate about and we take great pride in giving back to the community around us.”

This year’s funds raised in Santa’s Grotto will help to support the cost of installing defibrillator in communities in the area, something the Rotary Club has been fundraising for in recent months.

Trevor Fletcher, Chairman of the Rotary Club of Wortley, said: “We have been delighted to work with Sandersons for the second year running. We would like to thank the team at the store and everyone who has visited to see

Santa for helping to raise such a fantastic amount for the Rotary Club charities.”

Join in with more festivities at Sandersons Department Store on Saturday 23rd December with a live performance from Fox Valley Voices and a string quartet band.
