NEW BARBERS AND MENS GROOMING SALON TO OPEN AT FOX VALLEY

Barber Jake O’Neill is launching a new male grooming business at Fox Valley next month as part of the Sandersons Spa currently being created at the award-winning shopping centre.

Jake, 25, from Stocksbridge will be offering barbering and male grooming services in a cool and traditional shop in the centre’s Independent Quarter next to Sandersons – the salon has been styled on the hit TV series Peaky Blinders.

O’Neill’s Gentleman’s Barbers will open early in July and will be open seven days a week. The fit out team are currently transforming the former Pettits Shoe Shop unit into the brand new spa area and O’Neil’s.

Jake is keen that it has a relaxed and welcoming feel where customers feel like they can chat, unwind and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

As well as an appointment and walk in hair cutting service Jake will be offering beard trimming, hot shaves and facial massages. The shop will also stock a range of grooming products including American Crew products.

Jake, who has worked for Taylor Taylor and Savills in Sheffield is now looking forward to launching his own salon.

He said: “I want it to really feel like a social club and somewhere that men feel that they can relax in, have a drink and a chat and enjoy the lovely environment we’re creating. Initially I’m going to be working on my own but will be looking to recruit in the future.

“I’m really looking forward to opening in July and welcoming my first customers to O’Neill’s and its great to be part of Fox Valley and Sandersons here in my home-town.”

Since opening nearly three years ago the boutique store has built up a reputation across the region for supporting other independent businesses.

As well as the new O’Neill’s Barbers the changes in the store will also create a new Sandersons Spa and Sandersons Organics which opens later in the summer.

The boutique department store is headed by Mark Dransfield, Managing Director of Dransfield Properties which also owns and manages Fox Valley as well as other award-winning shopping centres across the UK.

Mark said: “Sandersons is a family owned and independent business and we are passionate about supporting other businesses like O’Neills. The new barber’s shop is going to look fantastic and we’d like to wish him all the very best with his launch in July.”
