Fox Valley team celebrate 3rd birthday with Food and Music Festival

17 June 2019

Thousands of people turned out for a fantastic weekend of delicious food and great entertainment for the Fox Valley Food and Music Festival.

The two-day event was sponsored by NeoMed Mediterranean Restaurant, Live and Learn Consultancy, Stocksbridge Town Council and Henry Boot Construction and saw the crowds turn out for a packed weekend.

The event was held on the centre’s 3rd birthday weekend and for the first year the Fox Valley team partnered up with Valley Music Festival who provided a packed line up of musical entertainment, showcasing local artists and performers.

On Saturday the main stage hosted a mix of cooking demonstrations from local chefs alongside musical entertainment and on Sunday both the bandstand and the main stage saw a packed line up of musical entertainment.

Visitors browsed more than 60 food and drink stalls selling a fabulous line up of yummy sweet and savoury foods – from cheeses to chocolate, olives and delicious cakes and biscuits. Food to go options included The Greedy Greek Deli and Stone Bridge Pizza who were cooking handmade pizza on demand.

Other stalls included Craft Tea, Fruity Tipples, All things Brownie Beautiful, Fula Flavour and Ananda’s Vegan Marshmallows. The main sponsor NeoMed also had a stall with some delicious street food options to go.

The Nook Brewhouse also joined the event with a pop-up bar as well as the Gin Cart who also had a wide selection of different flavoured gins to try. As well as this the Little Badger Cider Company had plenty of ciders to choose from and local beer from Bradfield Brewery.

The weekend included children’s rides and entertainment to get involved with a fruit and veg painting stall as well as free face paint.  Britain’s Got Talent’s Madame Zucchini also joined the event to entertain young visitors.

Fox Valley Event Manager, Kayleigh Marron, said: ‘The turnout we’ve had for our Food and Music Festival this year has been amazing.  ‘The feedback from our visitors and traders has been really great and it’s lovely to see such a positive atmosphere around the centre.

We just want to say a huge thank you to all our traders and sponsors and to everyone who came to the event and helped make it such a success, we’re already planning for next year.”
