Fox Valley Construction Update – October 2015

Over the last few weeks the main construction work on the three new office buildings at Fox Valley has been completed.
Maria House, Samuel House and Fox House are now ready for occupation with a number of companies preparing to move into their new premises.
The new car park for the office buildings is also completed now as is the highway work at Manchester Road and Fox Valley Way. Works to the highway further along Fox Valley Way towards Hunshelf Road are still on-going.
On the main retail blocks the roofing works are well underway on block B and work on the roof on block A is due to start later this week. Floor slab casting has also started on Block B and is expected to take around two weeks.
Masonry works on all the main retail blocks have progressed well including the umbrella shaped coffee shop which is really taking shape on site now. The design of the building has been inspired by the paragon umbrella frame – patented by Samuel Fox in Stocksbridge in the 1850s.
The steel finial which will create the point of the umbrella on the roof of the building is due to be craned in place in the next few weeks.
Henry Boot Construction have also started on the third retail block – this part of the development will house the new 20,000 sq. ft. ALDI store – which will be the largest in the region when it opens next spring. Steelwork will start to go up on October 19th on this part of the site.
Fox Valley is being delivered by South Yorkshire based Dransfield Properties Ltd. Once completed, the development will deliver 32 high quality new retail units, with a 600 space car park and high quality office space. A housing development with 114 new homes is also being developed by Stonebridge Homes on a neighbouring site.
Dransfield Properties has received an investment of £8,111,040 from the Yorkshire and Humber ERDF Programme 2007- 2013, which is managed by the Department for Communities and Local Government to bring forward the Fox Valley project.
