Fox Valley celebrates milestone 10th birthday with weekend of family fun

The team at Fox Valley have celebrated 10 years at the heart of the community with a special Big Birthday Weekend.
Hosted by Barnsley Radio presenter Matt Foister, the celebrations gave Fox Valley the opportunity to thank the local community for its continued support since the centre was officially opened in 2016 by Dame Joanna Lumley OBE.
Running across two days, visitors enjoyed a packed line-up of entertainment, including stilt walkers, an interactive bubble performer and live performances from Valley Music Festival, The Rock Choir and singer Hannah Rowe.
The event also featured a selection of popular market traders and food vendors, including Corker Art, Fresh and Delicious and Istanbul’s Kitchen, alongside two mobile bars courtesy of Bradfield Brewery and Fancy Filly.
No birthday celebration would be complete without a cake, and Saturday’s celebrations featured a special cake cutting to mark the occasion. Taking part were guests who have been part of Fox Valley since it opened in 2016, including Terry Deeley from the Maintenance Team and Helen Ruddlesdin, who has worked at Regatta for 10 years. They were also joined by special guest the Mayor of Stocksbridge, Cllr Richard Crowther.
The fun continued on Fox Valley’s social media pages, where one lucky winner has been selected as part of the Big Birthday Weekend Instagram giveaway. With prizes ranging from afternoon tea at Shackleton’s and a £50 voucher for Ponti’s Italian Kitchen, to a Gold Car Wash at Fox Valley Car Wash, it marked the centre’s biggest giveaway to date.
And on Facebook, Fox Valley stores competed to create the best 10th birthday window display, with Specsavers winning the vote of the Fox Valley community.
