Festive fun promised as Fox Valley prepares for dazzling 2025 Christmas Lights Switch-On

6 November 2025

The team at Fox Valley in north Sheffield is gearing up for one of the most magical nights of the year, as details are revealed for the much-anticipated Christmas Lights Switch-On event taking place on Friday 14 November, from 4pm–8pm.

The festive celebration will bring together an evening of live entertainment, family activities, food, and gift stalls, and of course, the all-important switch-on moment at 6pm. This year’s event will be hosted by BBC Radio Sheffield’s Ellie Colton and team, and is sponsored by Bloor Homes, who are currently developing the new Wharncliffe Park community in Deepcar.

The evening will include a spectacular performance from the Sparks drummers, returning with their famous high-energy illuminated show to light up the night after the big countdown.

This year’s fabulous festive display includes Fox Valley’s stunning 8-metre tall illuminated reindeer as well as a traditional Christmas tree and beautiful lights across the centre.

Visitors at the switch on event can browse more than 30 market stalls, featuring handmade gifts, crafts, and delicious festive treats — perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit.

Traders joining the Switch-On market line up include [The Cookie Smith, The Taco Trailer, Greedy Greek Deli, Nomadic Pizza, Nelly’s Fudge, Bradfield Brewery and Fancy Filly Bar. There will be Italian street food from Mangiamo Street Kitchen as well as delicious bakes from Binns Bakes. Craft and gifting stalls include  Just Wicks, Poppins Handbags, and handmade decorations and gifts from Merry & Bright.

There will also be children’s fairground rides, face painting, and lots of festive entertainment, as well as late-night shopping across many of Fox Valley’s stores

The Bloor Young Community Champion — a local young person recognised for making a positive impact in the community — will take centre stage to help lead the countdown and officially switch on the lights alongside special guests.

Claire Biltcliffe, Centre Manager at Fox Valley, said: “Our Christmas Lights Switch-On is always one of the biggest highlights of the year, bringing families, friends and neighbours together to celebrate the start of the festive season. With BBC Radio Sheffield, the Sparks drummers, and our wonderful Young Community Champion, it’s going to be a magical evening for everyone.

“We’re delighted to be working with the fantastic team from Bloor on this year’s event and look forward to welcoming a fantastic crowd as we launch the Christmas shopping season at Fox Valley.”

Sam Watkins, Sales Director for Bloor Homes East Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to be part of this year’s Christmas Lights Switch-On and to support what is one of the biggest and most-loved events in the Fox Valley calendar. As we continue to develop our new Wharncliffe Park community in Deepcar, it’s fantastic to see the whole community come together to celebrate the start of the festive season.”
