Award-winning Yorkshire department store secures exclusive fragrance brands

24 February 2020

South Yorkshire’s award-winning Sandersons Department Store has introduced a new range of exclusive luxury fragrances, making it the region’s leading destination for high end perfumery.

The team from the north Sheffield store have searched internationally – travelling to Moscow, London, New York and Paris to put together a unique new range of luxury fragrances to join the existing exclusive brands at the store.

Since opening in September 2016 Sandersons has been one of only two independent stores in the UK to be selected by Penhaligons to stock their products – the other store at Blenheim Palace.

Sandersons carries the full Penhaligons range and has recently had installed the exclusive Penhaligons interactive touch screen which helps customers select the perfect fragrance for themselves or as a gift for a special occasion.

Now the Perfumery Department is expanding its range of luxury fragrances – The classic French Fragrance House Robert Piquet will also become available in Sandersons this month and will be exclusive to the region and only available in Harrods, Liberty London and Selfridges elsewhere in the UK. The new range will include Robert Piquet’s classic fragrances, Bandit and Fracas.

Sandersons have also secured House of Oud, Atkinsons, Initio, Mark-Antoine Barrois and Parfums de Marley for the new luxury fragrance department.

Atkinsons was established in London over 200 years ago and was the official perfumer to the Royal Court of England.

Parfums de Marley was inspired by Louise XV and each fragrance takes its name from his racehorses. The Initio fragrance collection focuses more on the science behind the scent and exploring how different fragrances can affect our mood.

Mark- Antoine Barrois is best known for being a men’s couture fashion designer but has teamed up with perfumer Quentin Bisch to create a unique fragrance collection.

The Sandersons Beauty Lounge and Fragrance team have received in depth product training to learn about the history and provenance of these new luxury perfume brands – gathering expert knowledge to bring back to their customers.

The team are now fully trained on new skills such as fragrance matching and how fragrance smells can influence behaviour and mood, helping shoppers choose the perfect fragrance for them and enhancing the customer experience in the store.

Managing Director Mark Dransfield said: “I have travelled to many different locations researching perfumery with the hope of selecting a range of phenomenally beautiful fragrances in order to provide a completely unique shopping experience for our customers”.

Sandersons was named 2019 Best Retailer of the Year in the Drapers Independent Awards. To find out more about the store please visit
