The Grinch set to steal the spotlight at Sheffield’s Fox Valley
11 December 2023
Fox Valley is getting ready to give a warm welcome to the world’s most infamous holiday grouch when The Grinch brings his signature charm of frisky festive fun to the popular Stocksbridge-based shopping centre this weekend.
Families will be able to catch The Grinch and his friend Cindy-Lou Who roaming around the centre on Saturday, December 16, between 11.30am and 2.30pm,
when the much-loved miser with the mischievous grin and green attire will be trying
his best to dampen your Christmas spirit – in a fun way of course!
Take the opportunity to grab a selfie with the excitable duo,
if your dare, but beware of getting caught up in The Grinch’s playful pranks.
In addition, the Oughtibridge Brass Band will be performing some
festive favourites on the bandstand between 11am and 3pm, on both Saturday and
Sunday.
Santa’s Grotto will also be open in the bandstand area
between 1pm and 4pm on both days, providing a chance for families to capture
magical moments and share their Christmas wishes with Santa Claus.
Children will receive an age-appropriate wrapped gift in return for a suggested donation of £5, which will be donated to local charities supported by Wortley Rotary Club.
Claire Biltcliffe, centre manager at Fox Valley, said:
“We’re so excited to have The Grinch visiting Fox Valley on Saturday - his
presence around the centre is sure to keep everyone on their toes with his
unique sense of humour adding an extra dash of whimsical magic to our
festivities.
“The rest of the weekend is filled with special appearances
from one of our favourite local performers, Oughtibridge Brass Band and the
chance to meet Santa himself, promising a fantastic festive-filled fun family
day out for all ages.”
The grumpy Grinch’s visit promises to be brimming with
laughter, joy and the true spirit of the season, so don’t miss the chance to
meet The Grinch and Cindy Lou whilst getting your Christmas shopping all
wrapped up at Fox Valley.
In the run up to Christmas, there will also be a special
Santa meet and greet event the following weekend on Saturday, December 23, and
the popular Friday markets will continue to run at the centre between 10am and
3pm until Friday, December 22.
The centre team is always on the lookout for new independent
traders to join their regular weekly and monthly markets. To find out more
