2 November 2017

Fox Valley celebrated Halloween in style earlier this week with a fantastic turn out for the centre’s annual spooktacular.

Activities were organised across the centre including pumpkin decorating, face painting, children’s rides and a spooky horse and carriage ride.

The fantastic Lauren McCaslin School of Dance opened the event with a freaky dance performance before hosting a special “learn the Thriller dance moves” workshop.

Hundreds of youngsters joined in the fancy dress parades led by the spooky scarecrow stiltwalkers with prizes for the best costumes. A special seasonal market was also held in the indoor market hall next to Sports Direct.

The winners of the under sevens parade were Gracie Sue Redwood-Peace, aged five, Lilly Gorman, aged seven and baby Iona Fletcher who entered with her five year old brother Jenson.

The over sevens prizes were won by , Tianna Rimmington aged nine, 12-year-old Felix Smith and Josh Ainsworth, who’s eight.  Four year old Charlie Hart won the pumpkin design competition which was judges by the mayor of Stocksbridge Cllr Keith Davis.

The event closed with a fantastic fire show.

Fox Valley’s Centre Manager Annabel Plumtree said: “We had a fantastic evening celebrating Halloween – everyone made a fantastic effort with their costumes and made our judges job really hard in picking out the winner.
