Fox Valley Santa visits raise money for local charity

17 February 2020

Santa and his helpers have raised £264 for The Rotary Club of Wortley in the run up to Christmas at Fox Valley.
The special Santa visits took place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th December at the busy north Sheffield shopping centre.
Every young shopper who visited the centre received a special Christmas gift and all the money raised over the two days has now been donated to the Rotary Club of Wortley who organised the Santa visits.
The Club is a local charitable group which takes part in lots of fundraising activities throughout the year,  including visits from Father Christmas across the region in the run up to Christmas.
The donation from the Fox Valley Santa visits will be given to a Sheffield based charity called SToRMS -  Strategies to Reduce Male Suicide. SToRMS was set up in July 2015 with the goal of reducing young male suicides and improving lives of local people.
Events Manager at Fox Valley Kayleigh Marron said: “It wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa and we’re delighted to have been able to help raise this great amount of money for a fantastic local cause from December’s visits. We’d like to thank the team at the Rotary Club of Wortley and all the families who came along to see Santa.”
Philip Sherriff, from the Rotary Club said: “We are delighted to have worked with the Fox Valley team in the run up to Christmas again last year and look forward to planning for 2020.”
