Festival of Cycling Returns to Fox Valley

18 July 2022

The Festival of Cycling makes its return this weekend [23rd and 24th July] as Trek Bicycle at Fox Valley gear up to host a series of demos, scheduled store rides, kids cycling sessions and much more.

The festival aims to get people out cycling and so Saturday will see a jam-packed schedule of guided bike rides around the local area with the return of the Steel Valley Ride on Saturday, which has been on hold since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The ride is a 31-mile route with technical descents and grueling climbs and anyone interested in taking part in the challenge should visit store to find out more and sign up.

There will also be an extensive program of ride outs from store on Sunday including road, gravel, mountain bike and E-bike.

Andy Cook, store manager at Trek, commented: “We can’t wait to host this weekend’s festival of cycling, it is set to be an amazing weekend with plenty to do and see whether you’re a keen cyclist or completely new to the sport”.

Cyclists will be able to test ride the newest mountain bikes and electric mountain bikes now available in store and there will be special ‘Little Bikers’ kids cycling sessions held across the weekend 9am until 3pm.

The centre’s many food outlets and restaurants will provide the perfect opportunity for cyclists to refuel after a long day of cycling.

The festival is an initiative coordinated and ran by joint partners Trek and Steel Valley Project and will take place Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July.
