Do you dare take the walk of fire at Fox Valley?

23 October 2023

The team at Fox Valley shopping centre in Stocksbridge are daring people to join a fiery Halloween fundraiser this Saturday [28 October] from 3pm.

Those who dare will be challenged to walk across flaming hot coals, with a certificate awarded at the end.

The challenge aims to raise funds for the centre’s adopted charity, Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care (SCCCC). Places can be booked today on ‘EventBrite’ for £30 (plus a booking fee) with full training provided. Participants are required to make a pledge to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship, raising as much money as possible to support isolated and vulnerable people across Sheffield.

SCCCC is a charitable organisation that helps elderly and vulnerable people throughout Sheffield and Doncaster. They provide services from cleaning to driving people to hospital or doctor’s appointments. This charity relies mostly on donations and fundraising events such as this.

Claire Biltcliffe, Centre Manager at Fox Valley, said: “We are working closely with our charity partner this year to host several great activities and events for all shoppers to get involved in.

“This month we will see the return of the charity fire walk hosted by SCCCC. It is lovely to see the community come together to fundraise for such an amazing cause.”

Alongside this event, there will be a spooky market located on the main walkway from 11am until 5pm with more than 20 traders showcasing a mixture of handmade goods from clothing to woodwork and jewellery to freshly baked goods.

This seasonal market will also welcome new traders such as Cinnammmm who specialises in delicious cinnabons loaded with toppings and Belsini's who serve up delicious toasties and loaded fries.

Customers can also expect to see regular traders such as Flossy’s Dog Goodies with their homemade dog treats, The Pink Flamingo Boutique with their beautiful selection of women’s clothing and accessories and La Fiamma with their delicious wood burnt pizza.

The centre will host free face painting from 11am to 4pm and the centre's buggy will be giving people a scare with its spooky make over for the event. Free buggy rides will be on offer from 11am to 3pm.

Go Outdoors will also be celebrating their first birthday at Fox Valley offering an extra 15% off for members on Saturday [28 October] as well as 80% off their pre-loved tents, which is a limited weekend offer making camping affordable whilst helping the environment.

Claire continued: "We'd also like to wish our Go Outdoors store a big happy birthday this weekend."
