Yorkshire shoe retailer steps into brand new Fox Valley store

6 April 2016

The independent Yorkshire footwear boutique Champley Shoes is bringing the company’s fantastic range of men and women’s shoes to Fox Valley in a brand new store opening in June.

Owned and managed by husband and wife team Rachel and Stefan Berkache, Champley Shoes opened its first store in the north Yorkshire market town of Pickering 12 years ago.

The company has since expanded with a fashion boutique and is now planning to bring its fantastic range of quality and stylish footwear to a brand new 635 sq. ft. Fox Valley store.

Champleys will stock a fantastic range of both men and women’s footwear including Sketchers, Rieker, Fitflop, Marco Tozzo, Tamaris and Caprice.  The store will also stock Josef Siebel shoes – one of Europe’s longest established shoe manufacturers as well as Remonte footwear.

The family business has forged a reputation for stylish and high quality footwear with an emphasis on excellent customer service. The new Champley Shoes store will open in one of the stunning new units fronting Fox Valley Way at the new £50 million town centre development.

Rachel said: “We have been looking for the right place to open our second store in Yorkshire and this location is fantastic for us – our new shop has the perfect mix of the traditional boutique style shop front with the convenience of a modern shopping destination.

“We are really excited about being part of the new Fox Valley development and are looking forward to bringing our range to north Sheffield when we open in the summer.”

Fox Valley is on schedule to open on June 16th 2016. Champley Shoes will sit next to the new 17,000 sq. ft. Sanderson’s boutique department store which is due to open on September 1st.

Fox Valley will be anchored by a 20,000 sq. ft. Aldi foodstore with a fantastic range of national and independent retailers, restaurants and coffee shops.

A stunning landscaped peace gardens area is being created as part of the development with south facing outdoor seating for visitors to Fox Valley’s coffee shops and restaurants, there will also be a multi jet fountain and an outdoor TV screen.

Development surveyor at Dransfield Properties, Dave Hale, said: “It is great news that Champley Shoes is joining our line up at Fox Valley.  We have designed the smaller stores fronting Fox Valley Way with very traditional boutique style shops linking with the shops on Manchester Road.

“We are keen to attract a good range of high quality, independent retailers which bring something new and different to the area so we’re delighted that Rachel and Stefan have chosen Fox Valley for their second store.”

Dransfield Properties has received an investment of £8,111,040 from the Yorkshire and Humber ERDF Programme 2007- 2013, which is managed by the Department for Communities and Local Government to bring forward the Fox Valley project.
