Sports Direct prepares for spring opening at Fox Valley

The UK’s leading sports retailer Sports Direct is opening a brand new store at north Sheffield’s Fox Valley shopping centre later in the spring.

The company is currently fitting out a 13,200 sq. ft. unit at the region’s newest retail destination  – the new store is on two floors and will stock a full range of famous Sports Direct brands.

The store is next to M&Co and Next at Fox Valley and the Sports Direct team are planning a spring opening -  creating 15 new jobs.

One of the larger units at the centre has been subdivided into two new units to create the new Sports Direct store – an announcement will be made later in the spring about which company is taking the remaining space which is the final unit to be occupied at Fox Valley.

Sports Direct has more than 420 stores across the UK with a product range from world famous brands including Nike, Adidas, Puma, Under Armour, Slazenger, Everlast, Lonsdale and Karrimor.

The company’s specialist sports sections will have dedicated areas for Football, Running, Fitness, Outdoor, Golf, Fashion and many more, ensuring shopper’s have everything they need under one roof need whether they’re participating in a sport or just want to stay on trend.

The new Fox Valley Sports Direct store is scheduled to open in April – later in the month the eyes of the cycling world will be on Fox Valley when the centre hosts the finish of the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire on April 30th.

Chris Clarke from Sports Direct said “We are delighted to be opening our newest store here at Fox Valley and look forward to welcoming new and existing Sports Direct customers when we open the doors in April.

“The store will stock a great range of fashion and sports brands and equipment at fantastic Sports Direct prices.”

Centre manager Annabel Plumtree said: “We know from the feedback we have received from our customers that Sports Direct will be a really popular addition to the centre and we look forward to the new store opening later in the spring.”

Fox Valley opened in June 2016 with the second phase of stores opening in September last year. The centre is owned and managed by the award winning South Yorkshire property development specialists Dransfield Properties.

Sports Direct will join a growing line up at Fox Valley which also includes Next, Regatta, Seasalt, JoJo Maman Bebe, Edinburgh Woollen Mills, Ponti’s Italian Kichen, Costa Coffee and Central Bean. The centre is also home to some great independent companies.
