Quirky new cafe parks up at north Sheffield shopping centre

Fox Valley has welcomed a brand new business venture this month – a beautiful refurbished Citroen van which has been transformed into a fully fitted mobile café.

The new Café Gen is the little sister of Café Generation in Penistone and can be found at Fox Valley next door to Full Gas Bikes in a new landscaped seating area which has been installed at the centre.

The café brings something completely different to the centre with a fantastic range of healthy snacks and smoothies and a menu which has also been designed with the cyclist in mind.

The menu includes healthy breakfasts, lunches, snacks and smoothies, as well as a selection of jacket potatoes, nachos and flatbreads. Café Gen is open from 9:30am to 5:00pm, seven days a week.

The seating area around the quirky vehicle-turned-café is soon to be fitted with heated umbrellas. Owners Karen and Scott Waddington say they’re delighted to be joining the line up at Fox Valley.

Karen added: “We are passionate about wholesome and healthy food and we’re definitely reflecting that in our menu. The response has already been great and we’ve had some many lovely comments about our unusual little café.

“We’re obviously next door to Full Gas Bikes and right in the heart of some of the region’s best loved cycling routes so we’re also in a good location for cyclists to refuel on their weekend ride-outs.”

Annabel Plumtree, Centre Manager at Fox Valley, said: “Café Gen looks fantastic and we’d like to wish Scott and Karen all the very best with their new venture.”
