Fit out teams work round the clock for Fox Valley’s June opening

25 May 2016

The brand new £50 million Fox Valley development in north Sheffield opens on June 16th – and fit out teams are now working seven days a week to ensure the first phase of stores are ready to open.

A host of new retailers will open at the town centre development which can be accessed from the A616 Stocksbridge bypass where a new link road has been completed -  they’re all now working on their internal shop fit-outs ready for the centre’s unveiling next month.

The development is anchored by a 20,000 sq ft Aldi store which will open on the morning of June 16th.

Other stores now gearing up for the June 16th opening include Pets at Home, Regatta, Full Gas Bikes and the Cornish fashion and homewares brand Seasalt.

Work on the fantastic Ponti’s Italian Kitchen at Fox Valley is also on schedule for the opening date with the team from One Concept project managed by the award winning designer Simon McIlwraith of Collective Design.

Simon has also designed the interior of the umbrella shaped Central Bean coffee shop at Fox Valley – inspired by the area’s rich history as the home of the paragon umbrella frame which was patented by Samuel Fox in the 1850s.

Simon said: “We are on schedule on both Ponti’s Italian Kitchen and the coffee shop and our teams are really working round the clock to ensure everything is ready for the opening.

“This is a fantastic project to be involved with, with the Ponti’s design we’ve taken inspiration from the Emilia Romagna region which is the restaurant’s culinary home so we hope the customers will be as impressed with the design as they are with the fantastic food.”

The new Ponti’s Italian Kitchen houses a first floor Spumante bar with balcony and the ground floor restaurant has bi-folding doors with an out-door seating area overlooking the centre’s landscaped gardens and fountain.

Other first phase coffee shops and restaurants due to open at Fox Valley include Costa Coffee and NYC Bar and Grill. Edinburgh Woollen Mills will open on June 23rd – the new store will also house a Peacocks and Ponden Mills.

Work is also underway on the internal design of both Champley’s Shoes and Sorelle Jewellers ready for opening in June.

A second phase of store openings will follow in September when the centre’s boutique department store Sandersons will open as well as M&Co and Next.

Head of Communications at Dransfield Properties, Amanda Holmes, said: “We are definitely on the countdown to the first stores opening on June 16th and there’s a great deal of activity across the centre now.

“It’s great to see the store internals starting to come together and take shape and the signage going up at the centre ready for our first customers.”
