Customer feedback drives changes to free parking time at Fox Valley

26 September 2016

The team at Fox Valley have extended the shopping centre’s free parking period in response to customer feedback requesting more time to enjoy north Sheffield’s brand new retail destination.

The centre, which is just off the A616 Sheffield to Manchester Road in Stocksbridge, has a 600 space car park and was opened with a three hour parking restriction.

With exciting new stores opening and a popular restaurant, café and coffee shop lined up, the free maximum stay period is now being extended to four hours, with an additional option to pay to stay all day being introduced later in the autumn.

The new centre opened June with a line-up of stores including Aldi, Home Bargains, Pets at Home and Regatta.

A second phase earlier this month has brought more stores to Fox Valley with JoJo Maman Bebe, M&Co, Paperchase and the Boutique Department store Sandersons joining the line-up. Fox Valley also has several coffee shops, restaurants and café’s including NYC Bar and Grill, Ponti’s Italian Kitchen and the newly opened Blakes Tea Room.

Centre Manager Annabel Plumtree said: “We have had some lovely feedback from our customers since Fox Valley opened in June and the one message that has definitely come through is that a lot of people would like to stay here at Fox Valley for longer than three hours.

“We’ve listened to that feedback and we understand that some customers might like to stay a little longer or come to Fox Valley for a day out,  so we’ve reviewed our parking policy accordingly.”

The new four hour free stay has been introduced with immediate effect and the car park signage has been altered accordingly. Later in the autumn Pay and Display machines will be introduced to give shoppers the option to pay £2.50 for all day parking if they wish to stay longer than four hours.

The car park at Fox Valley is monitored by an Automated Number Plate Recognition system.
